Expression & Movement: The Nia Way

Nia is an expressive body-mind-spirit movement practice created over 20 years ago, as an alternative to the ‘no pain, no gain’ attitude to fitness. Nia naturally engages movement through playful patterns based on 52 moves. It draws on the chemistry of healing, dance and martial art moves and is set to rich, eclectic music.
Anyone can participate! All gender and age groups welcome. We have attendees at our classes from ages 14 to 80 years!
In this session, you will:
- Gain an introduction to Nia, what it is, the Nia style and the benefits of this style of movement to your mind, body and spirit.
- Partake in a 55-60 min Nia movement class. The class cycle includes a gentle warm up, followed by some active movement and concludes with a cool down. Please wear comfortable, flexible clothing and bring a water bottle and hand towel.
- Have time for Q&A and reflection. Jindii patrons will receive a special ‘New to Nia’ offer- a future 3 class pass for only $20 (usually $30).
