‘Creative Eco-Fashion’ Transforming Your Wardrobe and the Fashion Industry
‘You have to be burning with an idea, or a problem, or a wrong that you want to right. If you’re not passionate enough from the start, you’ll never stick it out.’ –Steve Jobs
Australia’s obsession with fast fashion is resulting in 85% of textiles ending up in landfill. Isn’t it time we became Conscious Consumers and Citizens? Fashion label, Pure Pod is striving to create a cleaner fashion industry, which protects the people working in it, through creative, ethical designs and beautiful products that have a strong identity and story behind them.
Join us in welcoming Kelli Donovan, Founder of Pure Pod, as she talks about:
- Pure Pod, an eco-friendly, sustainable fashion brand, right here in Canberra, and its vision to transform the fashion industry in positive ways, for both people and the planet
- Her fashion industry days, the pitfalls and successes of being in business and the challenges she overcame to build a creative business brand
- The importance of fulfilling your passions in life, and the physical and emotional benefits of achieving your career dreams
- How you can create a conscious wardrobe yourself, and become a more ethical and responsible consumer
A light afternoon tea will be served.

Speaker Spotlight
Kelli Donovan, Creative Director / Founder / Ethical Clothing Advocate / Yoga & Pilates Instructor
Kelli’s designer journey began at the ripe old age of 6, when she started making creations for her dolls, from scraps of fabric (using her Holly Hobbie sewing machine). Her whole life, she has been inspired and encouraged, by a creative family, to create textile art, drawings, paintings and clothing.
Her passion for the environment was born from playing in the garden, exploring the natural areas of her neighbourhood and many family camping trips. Her heart sang when in the Australian bush and this connection to the land is the inspiration behind her life’s mission: to help our natural world.
Kelli studied Fashion Design in Canberra and Melbourne and worked as a Designer for several large companies. The fast-paced industry deadlines took their toll on her health, which led Kelli to Yoga. The idea for her Eco-Fashion clothing brand ‘Pure Pod’ came alive on an organic, macadamia farm in the lush hills of Byron Bay, inspiring her to combine her love of fashion with her passion for sustainability, health and wellbeing.
